I created these to use with colored pencils. Rather than masking tape, I used duct tape. The kids still "smoosh" the foam. I think I have to come up with another idea. Have you had the opportunity to troubleshoot this?
Use on-hand materials to create a simple and cheap marker caddy in just minutes. Great for tracking expensive class sets of permanent markers and the like.

I remember losing lots of supplies when I taught 8th grade. I got to a point where I did a sign out sheet for pencils...it worked!
