This is a technical drawing lesson #5 for Steam Art. The students explore the parts of a Dyson vacuum provided by The Dyson Engineering Box. Then they draw in two phases. Phase One is a realistic drawing. Phase Two is a surrealistic drawing.

THE PLAN
1 session; 50 minutes per session
1. SWBAT draw two pictures using art elements: line, shape, form, color.
2. SWBAT draw a realistic drawing of the vacuum from life or from a picture on the worksheet.
3. SWBAT draw a surrealistic drawing based on the vacuum

2. Phase 1: Students replicate the realistic picture on the Worksheet or draw from life using line, shapes, forms and color.
3. Phase 2: Students create a surrealistic drawing based on the vacuum.
Students' art work will be in a library show.
