2. Students will use a variety of materials to create their Final, and hopefully, best work.

A Materials Table(s) with
1. 12"x18" paper
2. Drawing, painting and collage supplies
3. Reference materials, tracing and carbon paper.
4. The rubric
1. As a class, read through the descriptions of the ten projects, noting the techniques, elements and principles of art emphasized for each project.
2. In table groups, review the rubric- 4 categories, 5 levels in each category.
3. Prepare thumbnail sketches on the back of the rubric.
4. Choose one sketch and develop it into the finished piece.
Although it was a "Final Exam", I walked around and helped students, clarified expectations, coached for possibilities in their artistic outcomes. Every student had a copy of the rubric, which doubled as their self evaluation and thumbnail sketches (on the back). That paper was turned in with their project.
The project, could have been done in less days. Setting up a large still life might be helpful in the future to insure that students include drawing from observation. Students really enjoyed the creativity and freedom allowed, within the confines of the knowledge supposedly gained from past projects.
