1. Select an object(s) to draw. If you're drawing more than one item think about the composition.
2. Once the composition is figured out lightly sketch out your drawing in pencil, mainly focusing on the shape of the item. It's fine to add detail to the drawing but students should be aware that some of the detail they put in there drawing will get lost in the following steps.
3. Using a ruler start drawing lines across your picture to make it look fractured. Not all of the lines have to be straight. Curved lines can be added as well.
4. In each section start adding values by shading with the medium of your choice. Make sure not to place the dark values next to each other. You don't have to shade every section, it's OK to leave two or three empty if you prefer.
