Circus Paper Cut Outs

Created on November 28, 2012 by Karimarie

Students will learn and review the formal elements and principles in the Visual Arts. Students will understand how artists use the principles and elements to create an interesting piece of art. Students will be able to define and use the principles and elements of art within their own artwork. Using the paper collage style of Matisse, students will create a piece of artwork around the theme of a circus. Students will learn that artists are driven to create art even in the most dreadful circumstances. Through Matisse’s Jazz series students will learn that art does not have to be complicated, a simple line or shape can get an idea across to the viewer.
