I teach in Utah. Recently our legislature cut one of our art programs which reaches the elementary schools. I am sad that one uninformed legislator can undo funds at the 11th hour and rob elementary children of their chance for school art experience. I believe that legislators who vote for or against any form of education should have experience in the classroom. Just because they "went to school" doesn't mean that they understand what goes on behind the scenes to make it happen!
