Bottlecap Art... any solutions??

We made a 3x6 foot bottlecap mural in the fall and thought we were successful. However, after several months, the caps are beginning to pop off. I used tacky glue and hot glue, both are coming off equally. I've heard of some teachers using mail guns... but mine are attached to heavy cardboard. Any suggestions?

Have you tried silicone adhesive caulk? It might be overkill, but it is pretty cheap, goes a long way, and I used it to hold fairly heavy ceramic bricks to plywood years ago and they are still stuck, despite being in a hot environment.

Ah, no I haven't, but did read on an art blog to try that... since you are the second to recommend it, I shall have to give it a go! Thanks!

Construction adhesive will work. Contact cement might also.

I have the same problem. I bought a can a silicone caulk. It worked great and was easy to use- I chose the clear and just filled in areas b/w the caps. My problem is I had 2 very large murals. One can probably did 5% of my total area :( Anybody know of any other ideas (that aren't cost prohibitive)?

I'll use the silicone adhesive caulk for mine too. I have a few popping in off.
