12" mannekins (4)
Colored pencils
Watered down tempera paint
straws
Drawing paper
Scissors, glue
1. Discuss and practice drawing techniques.
2. Take turns moving a mannekin into different positions. Draw the figure to practice proportion and correct shapes.
3. Choose a practice form and enhance it to create a final figure.
4. Add shading to give the illusion of form.
5. Using watered down paint, drop or splat paint on the paper. Use a straw to blow air and move around the paint for a surreal effect. Once dry, outline in black sharpie.
6. Cut out form and attach to painted background. Use charcoal to add a shadow.
Drawing skills drastically improve with more hands on practice.
