THE PLAN
1. SWBAT portray objects, subjects, or themes.
2. SWBAT produce artworks using one or more elements of art.
3. SWBAT combine materials in new and inventive ways.
1. Variety of different colored construction paper
2. "Shiny" paper or stickers
3. Scissors
4. Glue sticks
5. Markers
1. Introduce the artist, Romare Bearden. Give short bio. Define "collage". Display examples of and discuss some of his collage art.
2. Show the video, "Dropping in on Romare Bearden", and discuss.
3. Pass out different colored construction paper, shiny paper scraps/ stickers, scissors, and glue.
Students cut out musical instruments and notes from diff't colored paper, and glue on black construction paper background.
