Creating Anchor Standard One: Generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work. Enduring Understanding (1) Creativity and innovative thinking. I am trying to unpack and understand the new NAEA standards for art teachers. The lesson plan is two part. The first page is the NAEA anchor standard and first enduring understanding (1), and materials, tools and techniques. The second page is the actual procedural plan for your lesson, including objectives, teacher actions, student actions, checks for understanding, modifications and adjustments, etc. If you open either in PAINT, you can modify to suit your specific needs. The first lesson plan page, enables you to customize for grades K-5, using the new core art standard, Creating, Anchor 1; Enduring Understanding (1). You can use one or more of the new anchors in one lesson plan. I have made a lesson plan page for each of the 11 anchors plus 5 more for extra enduring understandings. It is up to you how many you want to include in your art lesson. This first page includes the anchor, enduring understanding and essential questions. Just circle the grade level your lesson is for. There is an empty box for your state standards, notes or a photo of your project. At the bottom is a blank table for the needed materials, tools and techniques for this specific art lesson. The second page is the procedural page for your art lesson. You can individualize this for District requirements. You can adapt any of this information by opening it up in Paint.
