1.Cardstock, cut 8 by 8 inches
2. Pencils and erasers
3. Newspaper comics
4. Neon tempera

1. Students read about the life and artwork of Roy Lichtenstein.
2. Students work in small groups to create a poster of the top five facts to remember about Lichtenstein.
3. Students choose one inch squares from newspaper comics to redraw in their sketchbooks.
4. Students draw two inch, then four inch square sketches of the same image.
5. Students draw eight inch copy on cardstock.
6. Students choose three neon tempera colors to paint their image.
7. Students trace over lines with black sharpies.

Note: Black sharpie dries out quickly when drawn over tempera, so be prepared to do it in steps or use multiple sharpies.
