Draw a minimum of 3 consecutive art manikin poses.
-mankin poses may overlap
Use oil pastel to add shading to all the shapes to create the illusion of form.
-Students should create a strong sense of direction of light and shadow
Choose a color scheme : -complimentary color to the color used in oil pastel
OR
-analogous color scheme to the color used in oil pastel
Lay the tissue paper squares OVER top of the oil pastel drawing and carefully add water with a brush. The color of the tissue paper will bleed onto the paper below mixing to create a blended background.
Allow the tissue paper to dry over night before removing. Students can add additional oil pastel or watercolor if needed when dry.

Students will upload to artsonia, complete their artist statement and be assessed on the attached rubric.

The lesson was a quick and fun way to practice shading and form creation for students.
