Elementary [1st-5th] Lesson Plan

Pumpkin Photo booth

Students will create a photo strip (lookalike:) of pumpkins with different faces.

THE PLAN
1. SWBAT define shape.
2. SWBAT use scissors to cut shapes.
3. SWBAT identify facial expressions.

1. Black, white (I pre-cut 6" squares) & orange construction paper.
2. Scissors
3. Glue (we used glue sticks)
4. pencil

1. Have students make different facial expressions. i.e.- "What type of face do you make when you're mad?"
2. Draw 3 circles on orange paper
3. Cut out circles
4. "How many eyes do we have? What shapes are pumpkin eyes?" Have students cut out facial expressions with triangles as the eyes.
5. Glue facial pieces to orange paper.
6. Glue one pumpkin to each white square. Glue white squares to black construction paper.

Students will be assessed on how much time they work in class.

This is a fun Halloween project for early elementary students!
