Artist Trading Cards

A fun project to start the school year off or to do on a rainy day. Students will create artistic trading cards to trade with other students. Students learn how to work on small surfaces while honing their skills in the process.

THE PLAN
3 sessions; 35 minutes per session

1. SWBAT create artist trading cards.

2. SWBAT participate in a art trade with other students.

1. White Pre-cut blank Sketch cards or cardstock cut down to 2.5" x 3.5".

2. Art medium of choice. Students have the freedom to use any art materials available.

3. 3" x 4" Toploader card holder. Not necessary, but will protect cards from getting damaged.

1. Students will have total freedom with this project to create any type of art they want. Collages, self-portraits or even abstract is acceptable. Students will be encouraged to push themselves artistically. To practice new techniques and to revisit old ones.


Setup an art trade with another class room or even another school. It's a great way for students to make friends and become inspired by the works of their peers.
