1. Each week students will learn about 2 or 3 letters at a time. At the end of the week students will begin to create art for those letters.
2. Print out a large copy of the letters onto a sheet of typing paper. One letter per sheet. (This can be done with any typing program on a computer.)
3. With scissors cut the letter out. If students plan on decorating their letters on a different type of paper this will act as a stencil instead.
4. Next students will select a word that begins with the letter they are currently working on. Then decorate that letter to represent that word. (Example: Transform the letter C into a cow or the letter R into a robot.)
5. Once finished tape or glue their letter onto a sheet of construction paper, mounting board, or cardstock.
Seeing what the kids come up with is the best thing about this project.
