THE PLAN
1 session; 45 minutes per session
1. SWBAT identify shape
2. SWBAT cut, fold, and glue paper
3. SWBAT use materials safely and responsibly
1. Shape Tracers (square, triangle, circle, rectangle)
2. Glue
3. Scissors
4. Construction paper (6x9 - 2 per student)
5. Construction paper (1x9 - 4 per student)
6. Markers
1. Play youtube video of shapes by Scratch Garden to review basic shapes
2. Pass out 6x9" construction paper (2/student)
3. Pass out shape tracers to each table
4. Have students choose one shape
5. Demonstrate tracing the shape on one piece of paper (Students will follow along and trace one shape with marker)
6. Students choose a new shape
7. Demonstrate tracing the shape on the second piece of paper (Students will follow along and trace shape with marker)
8. Cut out both shapes
9. Glue two shapes together to create head and body (pass out arms/legs while students glue - 1x9" paper)
10. Glue arms and legs to body
* Students may roll paper with marker or create accordion folds
11. Use markers to draw a face and create clothes
Teacher observation. Student can safely and responsibly use materials. Student can cut, glue, and fold paper.
