THE PLAN
5 sessions; 90 minutes per session

1. Introduction to stained glass, specifically discuss middle ages.
2.Discuss symbols and meaning behind them. (What would be a symbol which is meaningful to you?)
3. View images of Middle Ages stained glass, discuss color. Talk about complementary colors and how to make symbols "pop."
4. Draw sketches of symbols for stained glass.
5. Draw full size symbol, remember to add lines in the background to mimic stained glass segments.
6. GO over full size drawing with black marker.
7. Trace design onto tracing paper and practice color combinations.
8. Use acetate to practice leading lines (will need one full day to dry). I made a sheet to tape under the acetate. Students will OUTLINE the rectangles. Ignore the thick, medium, thin for now.
9. Once leading lines are dry, paint inside using the colors chosen for final piece. Apply according to the thick, medium, thin indicators. Let dry so that students can review and see how they want their paint to look. Use q-tips/toothpicks to clean up.
10. Place plexiglass over sketch and colored tracing paper. Use this as a guide. Add Leading lines.
11. Add color, clean up.
