1. Go over color theory and analogous colors with the class. Provide various examples. Once students have a grasp of it proceed to step 2.

2. Draw a fruit or vegetable on the sheet of paper in pencil. Then go over your lines with a sharpie. Erase any visible pencil marks.

3. Select 3 analogous colors that best fit the fruit or vegetable that you drew, then color it with crayons.

4. Next color the background with 3 different analogous colors. If your drawing is made up of mostly warm colors than color the background with cool analogous colors and vice versa. This will allow the drawing to standout from the background.

5. Once done crumple your drawing than gently lay it out flat.

6. With watercolor and a brush apply a thin layer of watercolor over the crayon drawing. The darker the color the better. The paint will go into cracks made from being crumpled. Let dry.

7. Once dry apply a thin layer of glue on top of your drawing with an old brush. This will protect your drawing.

Gluing the finish artwork onto a sheet of gray, white or black paper can give it a clean professional look.
