1. Introduce landscapes, foreground, midground and background
2. Introduce contour line, explain how it follows the shape of the form.
3. Practice with students creating a landscape using contour lines.
4. Demonstrate how the lines and colors get larger and brighter as they come forward.
5. Students will create 4 ideas or thumb nails of landscapes.
6. Students will use 4 or more different lines.
DAY 2
1. Students will draw the MAIN shapes for the landscape, no details, just the foreground, midground and background lines. Use pencil.
2. Outline the pencil with black.
3. Students will start to lay in the contour lines into each land form, drawing the line to represent the way the land form is curved or moving. Use color.
4. As students fill in each landform remind them to make the colors in front brighter and the lines closer together.

Did you use at least 4 different kinds of lines?
Do you lines look like they create movement of landforms? ie are they contour?
Are your foreground lines larger and closer together?
