Student will begin this ceramic project by creating a sketch of each side of their building.
Understanding what each side of their architectural building will look like, students will begin constructing their building with slabs.
Slabs will need to be strongly supported on the inside to ensure they do not slump or collapse.
With all four walls of their architectural building standing, students will begin adding identifiable additives to their building.
For example, on a flower shop students may create a sign with the words ‘Flower hop along with a large flower. Students may also begin to create texture for different types of materials on the front of their building.
When all details have been added and/or sculpted carefully, students will sign their name in a discrete location and leave their clay project of the shelf to begin drying for bisque fire.
