1. SWBAT use their design skills to create a graphic personal logo.
2. SWBAT transfer their design and carve it into a printing block.
3. SWBAT learn about the printing process in order to create their own prints.

1. Students will sketch ideas for a personal logo that contains their initials.
2. Once a final design is picked, the student will draw the logo on a sheet pf paper the same size as the printing block (my example is 4"x4")
3. To transfer the design onto the printing block, the student will turn the sketch over and place it on top of the printing block. This will automatically reverse the print.
4. The student will rub the paper in a circular motion with a lot of pressure in order to transfer the pencil lines to the printing block.
5. The student will trace over their drawing on the printing block with a sharpie so it can be seen clearly.
6. After a demonstration on how to carve, the students will then carve their design into the block using the appropriate tools.
7. A demonstration will be given on how to print.
8. To see if the print is carved correctly, the student will make a few test prints.
9. Once the block is carved to the student's satisfaction, the students will proceed to the final prints.
10. Final prints will include 3 single prints and 1 large collage print
11. A demonstration will also be given on how to sign the prints.

Students will be assessed base on the attached rubric.
