This year, my principal added a "bonus" art/music class for elementary at my K-8 school so teachers would have extra planning time. So every two weeks, each class will come to art one additional period. Instead of using this time as extra art, I'm trying to do "big idea" presentations that I can use for everyone.

THE PLAN
1 session; 45 minutes per session
1. SWBAT understand and discuss each topic in class.
Lesson 1: Why is Art Important?
Lesson 2: Creative Thinking/ Imagination
Lesson 3: Comparing & Contrasting Art
(that's as far as I've gotten so far!)
Our district finally unlocked YouTube, so I included several videos even though I may skip past some depending on the age group. The little kids are really excited when there is a video! I also have a short activity planned if there is time, but luckily the kids have so far been interested enough that we talk most of the time and sometimes don't get to the activity.
