1. Introduce students to the concept of logo design by having them analyze famous logos both formally and through narrative. (worksheet)
2. (small group to large group) Have the students categorize logos into those that show the name of the company, show what the company makes, and those that show the vision/philosophy of the company.
3. Students individually brainstorm ideas for the title, purpose and logo of their company in their sketchbooks. (grid thumbnail sketches)
4. Demo Printmaking process for business cards and letter head sized paper. Have the students draw a final copy of their chosen logo in a rectangle the size of the printing plates. Use tracing paper for text (and logo if desired) and transfer the desing to the foam plate.
5. Open printing stations for students to create five business cards and two pieces of letter head.
As students print, take groups to a paper making station, demonstrate how to pull paper, how to set a watermark, and encourage kids to make at least two sheets.

Such fun to see the companies these kids create. Let me know if you have an improvement!
For papermaking, I've had super success with the setup I show in my picture. I set up three tubs and have kids work in groups of three at each tub.
