Middle [6th-8th] Art Show

Celebration of Creativity

Created on August 06, 2013 by jbucher

I put on an art show during my first year teaching middle school. It highlighted the work of my full year, 8th grade art students. The interest and turnout was nice, but not outstanding. I opened the event up to the entire school in the last 2 years. It is now called the Spring Celebration of Creativity! It is a highlight of our school year! We have choir and band/orchestra performances, science experiments, technology displays, foreign language, gifted and talented and service project presentations. My eighth grade students also create pieces of art that are auctioned off with all proceeds going to a local cause. It is a great way to highlight all that goes on during the year. Make sure you reach out to the local paper and media! This is great PR for your school, program and school district!
