I have 2 level-3 autistic 5th graders. One student is decent with art, understands color mixing, can draw well (like a 1st grader would). The other student is more musically inclined and can't focus on anything art related at all. I'm at a loss with what to do with these boys that is actually worthwile. Advice?

As a fairly new art teacher, I continue to find challenges in fitting everything in during my one 45-minute art class each week. How do you do it? It's especially a challenge for me if we're doing something that requires a lot of prep and clean up time (paint, clay, printmaking).

I've been working on figuring out ways to organize art work for students -- one of the challenges is no name on projects. I have always had table folders and all students at that table just put their projects in, but then if they don't put their names on, it can be an issue. What do you do?

Do you have another way to keep/store them together. The tins the pencils come in are getting broken, lids fallen off etc. We have about 50 sets of these pencils and they are driving me mad as not one is a complete set.

Many times I feel as though I'm teaching in a vacuum. It would be wonderful to see your best art projects. Could you all simply post: 1) Grade level(s) and, 2) A link to your students' artwork? I'd love to get (and share) new ideas. Here's mine: 1) High School 2) http://www.mrbodnar.com/my-classroom.html

I have boys who decided they want to join the army and you don't use art in the army so art is dumb. I of course gave them a mini-spiel on why art is important for your brain and life, etc. but would like to do a more solid presentation so they know it isn't just the opinion of their crazy art teacher. Any suggestions?

Do you have any tips that have helped make them successful?
